TOTAL REWARD STATEMENTS

Sky launches online total reward statements

BSkyB, the entertainment and communications company, has introduced online total reward statements for all 15,000 employees across the UK.

The enrolment process for the online total reward statements was launched on 3 October 2008. Within the first hour, over 550 employees had logged on to view their total remuneration package.

The total reward statements were developed through a partnership with full service flexible benefits provider, Vebnet. They have been introduced as an effective tool in highlighting the sum total of employees’ current benefits packages and to demonstrate the true value of their BSkyB contracts.

One of the key features of the new statements, required by Sky, was for them to be fully accessible from both office and home computers.

Before launching the enrolment procedure, BSkyB tested the system with members of the Sky Forum, a group of 70 employees, representing different areas across the business, elected by fellow colleagues. The pilot group reacted very positively and their feedback helped to finalise the total reward statements across the company.

A final word

“Introducing TRS to our staff has been well received and we are confident they will help support our retention policies as well as the recruitment of new people. Vebnet has supported our carbon neutral policy by delivering the statements online, at the same time as developing a personal and customised platform for employee communication. We are very encouraged by the high take-up from our people since launching earlier this month.” - Dev Raval, Director of Reward at BSkyB.
