New voluntary benefit scheme for Shoosmiths

Law firm Shoosmiths has introduced a new voluntary benefit offering fee free mortgage reviews for its 1,100 staff at seven UK locations.

The mortgage service, operated by People Value, an employee motivation solutions provider, provides staff at each location with mortgage surgery days.

Nicola Anderson, benefits manager at Shoosmiths, said: "Whether buying for the first time, looking to remortgage or just for peace of mind, this new service offers our staff fee free independent advice on the masses of mortgage offerings. It will provide a genuine opportunity to reduce their monthly commitment by ensuring that they have the most suitable deal available."

Each employee has the opportunity to book a 45-minute appointment with a specialist mortgage consultant who will provide advice and guidance on their individual mortgage needs.

Anderson said: "From the outset of the first mortgage surgery, which was over oversubscribed, the feedback from our staff has been very positive. We are delighted with the response to the new benefit and look forward to the rollout across our other locations. Given that the service is provided at no cost to the employer, it represents exceptional value for money."
