MediVet is developing a voluntary benefits scheme with Personal Group. Due to be launched at the end of April, Medivet Benefits will offer discount codes on a range of retail brands, including some of the leading supermarket chains, and also on entertainment, such as cinema tickets and family days out. Employees will have their own account and will be able to access the benefits at work or from home.
Medivet is a group of 128 veterinary practices based in locations all around the UK, offering a wide range of veterinary care services. The company employs around 1,400 people, and prides itself on offering them a work environment with a real family feel and a culture of support; for example, by being flexible with working hours and trying to accommodate staff members with family care responsibilities.
Marketing and content co-ordinator Cara Zaleski said:
‘We are like a family, always keen to offer help and support to colleagues based at other practices elsewhere in the network. The feedback we get is that people are happy in their jobs. We already have a points-based reward and recognition scheme in place, “Medivets say Thank You”, through which members of staff can be nominated as colleague of the month in one of seven job categories, including vets, vet nurse, etc. However, we wanted to provide something extra and it was a colleague who had previously worked at Personal Group who recommended their scheme, and it is also something that employees have asked about.’
