RECOGNITION PROGRAMMES

Employers urged to manage recognition globally

In today's far-flung economy, companies need to manage recognition globally, while tailoring rewards for local markets. That’s the message from a recent article in US human resources magazine Workforce Management.

“Motivating across time zones, though, still requires tight adherence to core recognition principles to make such investments worthwhile,” warns Charlotte Huff, the author of the report. She adds: “Awards that are in line with business goals are the most likely to ensure a substantial payoff, but organisations expecting immediate results may be disappointed.”
