Dot-coms more likely to link pay to performance

New economy companies in the USA are increasingly rewarding their senior executives with salaries and bonuses linked to performance, according to a survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers (Financial Times, 22 August 2000).

As Ed Speidel, director of PwC’ s executive compensation practice, told the Financial Times: The internet companies are acting and feeling more like traditional bricks-and-mortar companies, especially with investors focusing more on profitability of those companies.
