British employees prepared to pay for three-day weekends

Half of Britons are prepared to sacrifice a day’s wages in order to receive longer weekends, according to a survey by independent HR consultancy www.Reabur.com.

The study asked 1,283 Britons in full time employment if they would like their weekends permanently extended and subsequently have their salary decreased accordingly:

  • 51% said that they be prepared to lose a day’s pay in order for the weekend to be lengthened to three days.

  • A further 14% would willingly sacrifice half a day’s wages in order to finish work at lunchtime on a Friday.

  • 4% stated that they would prefer the half day to be taken on a Monday morning.
