EY pays out US $1m to recognition programme winners

Global consulting firm, EY, awarded US$1 million to the winners of a new global recognition programme late in 2015. Five winners in four categories share the money between them to further develop the initiatives they were recognised for, enabling them to potentially have an even greater impact on EY. One of the winners, in the ‘developing outstanding leaders and teams’ category, was Jonathan Zhao, based in Hong Kong, who had the vision and ability to build an Asia-wide actuarial and insurance risk team of more than 200 people from diverse backgrounds over a period of 10 years. The five winners were announced at a day-long, Olympic-themed event in London held in December 2015.

Nancy Altobello, global vice chair at EY, said:

‘Not only are the prizes and scope of the awards unique but the Better Begins with You programme embeds our purpose at the heart of our organisation by involving all EY people in nominating and selecting the finalists and deciding on the overall winners.’
