I would appreciate advice on where I could obtain reliable third party salary data for a client who has an office based in Eschborn(Frankfurt) Germany. I am looking for general industry data.

Any pointers please on the best proprietary data for that region?

Try the old Watson Wyatt (now Towers Watson) General Industry survey. Their GI surveys are available for most countries.
